Practice Smarter (Not Harder)
Does this sound like you?
- Even though you love playing your instrument, practicing feels mundane and boring.
- You feel like you've played the same song a thousand times and not only aren't you making progress, you might even be sounding worse than before.
- You find every excuse not to practice and when you finally sit down, you watch the clock until you're "free" to do something else.
Believe it or not, I know exactly how you feel. As a gifted musician, I was always expected to know how to practice or to be motivated to work on the parts of a piece that felt hard or that I didn't like.
As a student, my teachers could rarely motivate me to practice to the point that they would try to guilt me into practice by talking about how I had a responsibility to my talent to take this seriously.
It almost ruined everything for me.
In Practice Smarter (Not Harder), I take you behind the scenes of my personal practicing techniques to supercharge the learning process. I use skills from my public school teaching days and knowledge of neurobiology to help you make practicing brain-friendly and... (dare I say it) even a little bit fun.
So, let's do this. Let's give you the tools you need to finally practice smarter (not harder).
